While you’re on the road taking advantage of our travel nursing opportunities, you can stay connected by joining professional organizations, accessing online resources, and participating in continuing education. Hospitals and facilities may provide online training modules to help you stay current with your skills. In addition, you might want to take advantage of workshops or seminars in your specialty to give yourself more expertise. Keeping up to date with certifications and training opportunities will ensure you can enhance your skills even when you take RN travel positions.

When you accept traveling nurse jobs, you will need to have essential documents including your nursing license, certifications, resume, and reference letters. You also should make sure your medical records and immunizations are current and be ready for background checks and drug screenings.

Traveling nurse employment does not prohibit you from higher education or earning additional certifications. There are many educational institutions that provide online programs to continue your education even while you’re on the road. This gives you the chance to enhance your certifications and open up more specialized travel nurse job opportunities.

It’s common for travel nurse practitioners and others to be responsible for obtaining state nursing licenses in the states where they plan to work. SkyBridge Healthcare can assist you with this process and offer our expertise as part of our services.
